This past weekend was the semi-annual General Conference for my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). What is general conference and why do we have it? Read about it here.
There are four main session of conference for two hours each. Two are on Saturday and two on Sunday. We listen to prophets and apostles, just like people did in the bible long ago. It was great (more on that below).
Before the first session began on Saturday, we went and picked up Charlie's new crib (yippee for Craig's list)! He has been sleeping in a porta-crib and is liking his new digs.
Keith's family has a tradition of having "conference breakfast" Sunday morning. We carried on the tradition with a breakfast casserole.
Between Sunday sessions we bundled up Charlie and took a long walk around "our" lake. We have walked/jogged/biked on the trail before but have never done the whole loop at once. It was great. We really live in a gorgeous area.
We were hoping that with the cover over the stroller Charlie would doze off. Not so much. But he was happy.
Some things that stuck in my mind from conference:
-I am really REALLY blessed to have such wonderful parents. Words just can't express it.
-If I do my part God will guide Keith and I as we try to be good parents to Charlie. He deserves the best.
-Lots of things can be scary (money, family planning, parenting, etc) but as we do our part God will be with us every single step of the way. If we do our part we have no need to fear.
-Scriptures are a great gift, we should utilize them daily. They are often how answers will come.

I so love reading about your adventures, Katie. You guys seem to take advantage of each day, and I absolutely love that.
Love you! and miss you like crazy. Kiss Charlie for me. :)
