Our Weekend

This weekend was our last Conference Weekend in Utah for the foreseeable future, so we spent it with our wonderful Utah family.

Friday night and Saturday we stayed with Patti and Paul and their wonderful kids. Charlie loved playing with sweet Emily.

We spent Sunday over at Grandma and Grandpa Merrill's where Charlie got lots of attention. Grandpa played a game with Charlie where he would start from across the room with tickle fingers out and slowly make his way across the room to tickle Charlie. After a few rounds Charlie would squirm and smile in anticipation when Grandpa was only halfway across the room.

Uncle Shawn was there too. We only have a couple of more weeks with this guy!

Charlie got Grandma time too and Ginger was jealous.

Conference weekend wouldn't be complete without an in-between-sessions nap.

A few conference gems:

-Often times answers to prayers come when we are on our feet (serving) rather than on our knees.

-Don't resent the very trials that help us reach our divine potential.

-As we do our best, and do what is right, we can be confident that God will guide our steps, even if it is so delicate that we do not recognize it at the time.

-The atonement is there so we do not need to suffer the full weight of our sins. We can heal spiritual pain through the atonement.

-No woman should ever feel the need to apologize for choosing to be a homemaker and to not work outside of the home. Their work in the home is the most important.

-Each child is born with challenges to overcome and faith to be developed.
