Love these people

Charlie and I spent two wonderful weeks in Washington with the family (Keith joined us for a weekend trip to Long Beach which is a later post). Liz was leaving for a 14 day trip through the Grand Canyon with Cory and others, and we all got together (minus Joe) to talk wedding stuff, hold babies, and generally have a grand ol' time.

When Charlie and his newest cousin Brooke met for the first time, they didn't seem too sure about each other.

They soon got better acquainted as they got hauled all over town with us.

You can get anything at Costco.

There are new residents at home these days. The sheep have been replaced by a new species of lawn mower: Scottish Highland Cattle. They are very friendly if you have orange peels in hand. The two cows (Jasmine on the right and Rosebud to the left) are both now mommies to bull calves.

Jasmine had hers right before we got there and he got castrated while we were there. We have castrated many lambs in the past but capturing and controlling a big fast calf (while watching out for the momma with horns) put an interesting twist on the process.

Little Brooke was blessed while we were there.

Sarah crocheted her dress and bonnet.

Brooke really is a sweetheart and Sarah and Darren are wonderful and cute parents. Sarah is especially fun to watch as she "gushes" over her precious little bundle.

The sweet ladies in my home ward threw a baby shower for Sarah while I was there. It was so fun to catch-up with people I haven't seen in years and hear about all the wonderful things going on with them.

The best overall part of the trip really was just spending time with family. I love these people so much!

Love you all!
