A Wonderful Washington Visit Part Three: Taste of Tacoma and the Beach

Charlie enjoying Jelly Belly samples. Hooray for Phenylalanine-free treats!
This is the last post from my recent Washington trip (promise!). I had such a great time and wanted to document it before it got buried in the digital piles of photos.
One afternoon/evening while I was there we went to the Taste of Tacoma which is an annual festival held at Point Defiance in, you guessed it, Tacoma. There is food, live music, and arts and crafts booths.

Before leaving we had to take a stroll through the Point Defiance rose gardens
From the moment Charlie got out of the stroller he was a blur.

Later in the week we spent a lovely evening at the beach exploring with the babes, picnicking, and canoeing.
Charlie discovering the salty difference between Puget Sound rocks and Raleigh rocks.

Charlie LOVED walking on the driftwood and discovering the little pools of water that they contained.

Brooke couldn't decide if the seaweed was tasty or yucky.

Alex and I took the canoe out for a spin before we left. For a brief moment it felt like we were kids again and I wasn't living across the country and he wasn't heading off to college.
Thanks family for the wonderful visit! See you soon in Oregon!
