Way More than Three Things

Keith and I have been doing "three things" all day long. We put a slight twist on it though. The three things don't all have to be from today and we can say as many as we like at a time.

Here are some of the wonderful things I am thankful for this year:

My wonderful, generous, best friend, husband.

My true bundle of joy: Charlie.

Dancing with Charlie.

Cranberry sauce. Oh, sweet nectar. Turkey would be sad and dull without you.

Morning walks.

PKU support, heel pricks, and research.

Family, family, family. You know who you are, and you are so loved.

Wild places.

Jabbering with Charlie.

Kisses.

Hugs.

True faith in God. It sustains me.

Honey bees.

Happy text messages.

Skype.

Warm slippers.

Fingers.

Good, healthy, food.

A warm safe home.

Airplanes that fly me to family in a matter of hours.

I could go on and on and on. Life is so very good. If I let myself I could come up with plenty to complain about, but it is all so slight when compared to the blessings that I enjoy.

May you all have a Thanksgiving filled with giving thanks and love.

Three Things

I posted once before about Three Things but didn't give the background story. Here it is: One night while Keith and I were engaged he was taking me home after a long, hard day at school and out of the blue he asked for three good things about that day. It caught me off guard, but I came up with them. Ever since then, near the end of the day (especially on either particularly bad or good days) one of us will often say to the other "three things." The other person is then supposed to tell about three good things about that day and (because we are uber-romantic like that) one thing we love about the other person. Then the person who asked does the same.

So that is the story and here are today's Three Things:

1. Jogging/walking this morning on the Lake Johnson trail. It was one of those really enjoyable jogs when it felt great just to be out moving. Also, I love all of the birds I see along the trail. And I love my jogging buddy (even if he does always fall asleep by the time we are done).

2. Nutella on homemade banana bread. Banana bread never had it so good.

3. The excitement of seeing loads of family in just a couple of days! Yippee for Liz and Cory!

What are your three things today?

Good Day

Three things:

Laughing with Keith as we watched our blinds blow in the wind this morning. (Our windows were closed. Gotta love Wymount).

Charlie's shirt says "I'm super awesome like Daddy"

Dancing to Jack Johnson in the living room this afternoon with Charlie. His big blue eyes scanned the room as we twirled and rocked, but they always came back to me with a smile.

Liz and Charlie January 2011

Lizzy is coming over for the basketball game this evening. I remember when she was a teenager and she decided that she wanted to be called "Elizabeth." I had a hard time with that and she told me that I could be the exception and still call her "Lizzy." I sure am going to miss her.
